The Directorate General of Health Services in Muscat said the places for primary healthcare centers were selected after studying the population density and the geographical nature of those areas.
"But after the outbreak of the pandemic, many challenges emerged, including the need to provide health services outside health centers, such as vaccination centers, field hospitals, government hospitals, and examination centers at the airport. For these reasons, health services have been integrated or merged in some wilayats."
"Reducing services in some health centers is a temporary solution and the decision to close the Al Ghubra Health Center was based on a study," MOh said.
The Al Khuwair North Centre can accommodate patients in large numbers and through which social distancing can be maintained, in addition to the availability of several clinics to provide all services.
