Muscat: Latest weather charts and analysis of National Multi Hazards Early Warning Centre show a trough of low pressure extended from the Arabian Sea towards the Sultanate starting from today. Effects of the trough expected to continue for several days to come, said a report on Monday issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Continuous cloud advection with chances of isolated rains, occasionally thundershowers, is expected over Governorates of Dhofar, Al Wusta, and South Al Sharqiyah. Meanwhile, cloud development, associated with thundershowers, is also predicted over Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas.

The sea state will be rough along the Arabian Sea with maximum wave height ranging between (3 to 4) meters while the Sea of Oman will be moderate with maximum wave height ranging between (1.5 to 2.5) meters.

The CAA advices the public to take precaution and follow its updated weather bulletins and forecast. --ONA
