The main committee for moon sighting met on the evening of Saturday 29th Dhu'l-Qi'dah 1442 AH (July 10, 2021), chaired by Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Abdullah al Salmi„ Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
The committee said it received evidence of sighting the crescent, therefore it decided after reviewing the evidence to approve the sighting of the crescent of month Dhul Hijjah 1442 AH.
"Hence, Sunday (July 11,) will mark the beginning of Dhul Hijjah 1442 AH, and Tuesday 10th Dhul Hijjah 1442 ( July 20, 2021) will mark the beginning of Blessed Eid al Adha.
