MUSCAT: The prices of fish in the local markets in the Sultanate saw a significant drop last June. The prices hovered between RO 0.500 and RO 3.00 per kilo and the markets saw medium purchasing activities and an abundance of fish quantities.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources is implementing a plan for the marketing of fish during the summer months. The plan which began in May and continues till the end of August, is carried out in cooperation with fish selling and marketing companies and aims to supply fish markets, outlets and fish shops in the governorates with adequate quantities of fish in order to achieve balance in the local market in terms of quantities, types and prices.
