Total lockdown during Eid Al Adha holidays: Supreme Committee

Muscat: The Supreme Committee tasked with tackling the developments resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, has issued the following decisions:


Extending the closure of commercial activities and ban on individual and vehicle movement to be between 5 pm and 4 am, effective from Friday July 16 to Saturday July 31.


The Supreme Committee decided to impose an all-day-long ban on individual and vehicle movement and closure of commercial activities on the three days of Eid Al Adha holidays (from the 10th to 12th of Dhul Hijja).



The Supreme Committed decided to exclude Musandam Governorate from the closure of commercial activities and movement ban.



However, entry to Musandam Governorate will be allowed only for those who have received one dose of the vaccine at least for people aging 18 years and older.


The Supreme Committee has decided to lift Egypt from the list of countries from which arrivals are banned. It also decided to add to the list the following countries: Singapore, Indonesia, Iraq. Iran, Tunisia, Libya, Argentina, Colombia and Brunei Darussalam.


The Supreme Committee decided that those who have received one dose at least of the Covid-19 vaccine who are 18 years old and older, are allowed to enter Dhofar Governorate.


The Supreme Committee affirmed that the Eid congregational prayer won’t be performed, and the traditional habta markets will be banned in addition to all forms of gathering.
