RIYADH: His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al Said, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, affirmed that the Omani-Saudi relations are firm fraternal relations distinguished by several joint links and mutual respect.


In comments to Oman New Agency (ONA), HH Sayyid Faisal said the distinctive relationship between the two brotherly countries are evidently reflected on various public and commercial levels thus fostering the cultural, social and economic relations.


The ambassador noted that Oman’s Vision 2040 and the Saudi Vision 2030 have many shared programmes in addition to the exchange of expertise between the two countries taking into considerations the peculiarity of each country. He added that the economic system of the GCC countries are generally similar and the GCC governments are striving to realise economic integration.


Commenting on the Saudi investments in the Sultanate, the ambassador said that the reliance lies on the business sector in both the countries to raise the level of trade exchange, indicating “the desire of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to further enhance investments in the Sultanate” in light of the amendments and improvements issued by the Sultanate, both at the level of structuring the state’s administrative apparatus or at the level of legislation and improvement of the business environment in addition to great facilities to support and stimulate the national economy.


Speaking about the road linking the Sultanate to Saudi Arabia, the ambassador said that the project is in its final phases, expressing the hope that the road will be opened during the upcoming period, explaining that the authorities concerned in both countries are making great efforts in this regard.


HH Sayyid Faisal spoke of the continuous attempts for convergence of views between the parties with regard to the Yemeni issue. — ONA
