Muscat: The data from the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicate that the total number of vehicles registered in May 2021 increased by (0.02%) to reach (1,539,994), compared to (1,539,762) last April.
Vehicles with private registration accounted for 79.1% of the total number of registered vehicles, reaching 1,218,786. As for vehicles with commercial registration, the number reached 232,249 (15.1%), while the number of taxis stood at 29,169 (1.9%). Rental vehicles were 22,873 (1.5%) of the total vehicles registered until the end of May 2021.
The number of government vehicles reached 12,361, while the number of vehicles with temporary registration (temporary inspection, export and import) was 10,545. The number of registered motorbikes was 6,083, and the driving tutoring vehicles reached 5,792, while the agricultural tractors reached 1,305, and the number of diplomatic vehicles reached 831. --ONA
