Various corporates and associations are conducting blood donation camps in response to the call for blood units by the Central Blood Bank in Bausher.
Several private and public companies are carrying out blood collection drive under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), requesting their employees and the general public to donate blood.
A two-day public blood donation drive has been organised by Al Jenaibi International Automobiles (AJIA), the official importer of BMW Group vehicles in Oman, on Wednesday and Thursday (June 23 and 24) between 9 am and 2 pm, at its Muscat showroom.
The corporates response to the Blood Bank appeal comes in the wake of the slump in the supply of blood to the Bank due to social distancing and the cancellation of blood drives.
“We deeply care for the community, therefore we always ensure we go above and beyond when it comes to integrating corporate social responsibility into our operations,” a spokesperson for Al Jenaibi International Automobiles told the Observer.
“Donating blood is one of the easiest, most rewarding ways to give back in a time of need, and we hope to see as many people as possible take part in this initiative of human solidarity on the second day.”
To stand by one another in these challenging times, the company is encouraging members of the public to join a good cause and make the difference between life and death for someone else. The activity is being held under strict safety guidelines, and it will be monitored by personnel from the Ministry of Health.
Those interested in donating blood and taking part in the national cause can get more information from 9617 8383, 9617 9393, 800 50008 (toll-free).
