Oman, Saudi Arabia review investment and trade cooperation

Asila bint Salim al Samsamiyah, Under-Secretary for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, met with Majid bin Abdullah al Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment of Saudi Arabia in his office in the presence of HH Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al Said, the Sultanate’s Ambassador Saudi Arabia.


The meeting was part of a visit by the Omani delegation to Saudi Arabia from June 19 to 22. The delegation comprises a number of officials from the public and private sectors.


The meeting discussed ways of boosting investment and trade exchange between Oman and Saudi Arabia through the investment opportunities and the exchange of expertise and reviewing the Saudi experience in the investment sector. Besides, the two sides held a joint workshop to ways to bolster investment between the two countries.


The Omani side presented a visual display about the investment environment in the Sultanate and the most important developments in the investment sector and the investment opportunities available in various fields in the Sultanate.


On the other side, the Saudi delegation reviewed the developments that took place in the investment sectors and displayed the programmes of the national firms and the invest in Saudi Arabia initiative.


Besides, Asila bint Salim al Samsamiyah, Under-Secretary for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, met with Eng Khalid al Falih, Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia and Saleh al Rasheed, Governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha'at) and a number of Saudi officials to discuss ways to boost commercial cooperation. The Omani delegation is holding meetings with a number of Saudi businessmen to offer investment opportunities in the Sultanate.


The visit is aimed at developing and fostering joint cooperation and finding a clear vision for integrated investment action between the two brotherly countries to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040 and the Saudi Vision 2030.
