Muscat municipality issues guidelines for health clubs

Muscat: Muscat Municipality on Monday has issued new guidelines for health clubs aimed at limiting the spread of the coronavirus.


1- Massage area:


A- Do not put oil in cups to be used for other customers.


B- Dedicate a disposable uniform for the masseuse, which is thrown away as soon as the service is completed.


C- Avoid hot stone massages.


D- Avoid bamboo massages.


2- Jacuzzi tubs:


A- Make prior appointments for customers, taking into account the tube area and safe distance.


B- Clean and disinfect tubes with approved disinfectant before re-opening them.


C- change the water after each use.


D- Ensure the ventilation system works efficiently.


3- Sauna


A- Make prior appointments for customers, taking into account the tube area.


B- Clean and disinfect the sauna rooms with approved disinfectant before re-opening them.


C- Properly ventilate the room to remove moisture.


D- Ensure the ventilation system works efficiently."


All clubs are bound by the Prohibition in Ministerial decision No 2019/219 on the health requirements for activities relating to Public Health, which prevents offering the following :


1- All kinds of cosmetic practices penetrate into the skin.


2- Keeping customers' personal items in the facility.


3- Facial steaming or massaging.


4- Moroccan bath or equivalent.


5- All kinds of home services.
