The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, in coordination with the Supreme Committee, has banned meetings and celebrations and gatherings in hotel and tourist establishments.

It also announced the closure of all public facilities in hotel establishments between 8 pm and 4 am.

Two hotels fined so far

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) had penalized the InterContinental Muscat Hotel last week for organizing an event without committing to the authorized capacity of the celebration halls.

The ministry stressed to all hotel and tourist establishments the importance of adhering to the precautionary measures to prevent Covid-19 in order to avoid legal accountability.

Earlier, MHT announced the closure of The Chedi Muscat Hotel for the approved time period, in addition to applying the penalties, after cases were confirmed as a result of non-compliance with implementing the preventive measures to be applied.
