Mwasalat transports over 210k passengers, 9k tonnes of cargo on Shannah-Masirah Route

Masirah:The Mwasalat “Ferries” service between the Wilayat of Masirah and Shannah Port contributes in facilitating the transportation of tourists and citizens. It also boosts the economic activities and services.


Through its “Ferries” service, Mwasalat has transported passengers, cargo and vehicles to and from Masirah since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic till the end of the first quarter of 2021. During the aforesaid period, Mwasalat transported more than 210,000 passengers, and 65,000 vehicles and trucks through which more than 9,100 tonnes of cargo were transported.


Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic on public transportation services in the Sultanate, Mwasalat was keen on sustaining its operations on the Shannah-Masirah route, and in operating more than 2,800 trips.


Mwasalat affirms that it provides its services in a safe and healthy environment by adhering to precautionary measures as per the requirements issued by departments concerned in tackling the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic. --ONA
