Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) said on Sunday that the ministry has started to provide a package of facilities to all legal forms of entities that are interested in liquidating their commercial registers for a year or merging them for a period of six months.

According to an online statement issued by MoCIIP, the facilities offered to companies wishing to liquidate include the following:

  • A liquidator must be one of the partners who is authorized to sign.

  • Determining an amount of RO.60 that includes all liquidation procedures.

  • Exempting these businesses from all government fines following their decision of liquidation.

The ministry highlighted the steps needed to submit a request of commencing and finalising the liquidation process via its portal “Invest Easy” or via Sanad Services Centres for Service.

These facilities come as part of the ministry’s efforts to support businesses to correct their conditions and encourage owners of multiple commercial registrations to liquidate or merge their commercial establishments within the framework of dealing with multiple commercial records.
