KHASAB: Raed bin Mohammed al Shuhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Musandam branch of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the staff and private sector executives, hailed the Royal directives issued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to develop Musandam Governorate.

He said that the establishment of a branch of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in the Wilayat of Khasab, is a long-waited demand and will be a beacon for science and education and a tributary of the local economy as well as strength the purchasing power and stimulate air and sea transport lines.

He added that the establishment of an integrated system of strategic stock achieves food and medicine security in the governorate.

The conversion of the Port of Khasab to a special logistics zone is aimed at providing facilities and services to stir import and export activities and open direct lines for export as well as establishing special economic and tourist zones to serve as a driver for investments in the governorate, the official said.

Al Shuhi affirmed that His Majesty’s directives to the government to speed up the implementation of what has been approved by the Council of Ministers reflects a serious desire to expedite the achievement of results on the ground which requires concerted efforts and integration between different entities, he added.

He noted that the diligent follow-up by the minister of the state and governor of Musandam and the walis and the efforts of the Musandam branch of OCCI, the members of the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura and the other stakeholders, played a big role in delivering these demands which are added to a series of projects announced earlier and are currently under implementation.
