Mobile subscriptions in Oman drop 3.3% in 2020

The number of mobile subscriptions decreased by 3.3 percent until the end of April 2021 to 6, 31, 325 subscriptions from the same period a year ago.


The prepaid subscriptions dominated the total mobile users at 4, 915, 485 subscriptions, a decrease of 9.3 percent from 3,904,632 in April 2020.


The total number of subscriptions to fixed broadband services (more than 256 kbit / s) reached 512, 466, an increase of 4.6 percent over the same period in 2020, while the number of subscriptions via low-speed Internet (less than 256 kbit / s) including dial-up And some leased internet lines have 2,046 subscriptions, an increase of 1.1 percent over the same period in 2020.


The number of active mobile broadband Internet subscriptions reached 5, 107, 856 subscriptions until the end of April 2021, while the total international capacity of the Internet reached 1, 441, 777 megabytes, an increase of 29.5 percent for the same period last year.
