MUSCAT: After a 14-month hiatus as a precautionary health and safety measure due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre are again gearing up to welcome the world through their doors.

“We’re back to business, ready to fill the OCEC calendar with an exciting line-up of events, and all set to deliver enhanced operations and services to our clients and event patrons’’, Oman’s premier events venue announced recently.

OCEC’s scheduled re-opening, which follows on from Oman Supreme Committee approval, will come as welcome news to local, regional and international event organisers who’ll once again be able to avail the services of a state-of-the-art events venue in Oman to host conferences, exhibitions, and social/corporate events of all kinds.

Eng Said al Shanfari, OCEC — Chief Executive Officer, explains: “The decision by the Supreme Committee to approve Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre’s re-opening is for us a highly anticipated moment. We’re once again excited to be able to open our doors to the world, and to provide a state-of-the-art events venue to local, regional and international event organisers. With a new, enhanced line-up of services and facilities, we’re looking forward to delivering exceptional events — and exceptional experiences to our patrons.”

In terms of continuing safeguards against Covid-19, OCEC is committed to ensuring the well-being of event attendees and guests, by maintaining high health and safety standards through all operations. Health and safety precautions at the venue will include pre-entry temperature checks, social distancing in queues and meeting spaces, and wearing of appropriate health and safety attire.

Accompanying the venue’s re-opening will be OCEC’s rolling out of a range of new services and facilities for event organisers.

These include new and enhanced audio-visual equipment and operations to uplift any event, conference or exhibition experience. OCEC have also added new hosting packages to their portfolio, as well as an opportunity to host hybrid-style events combining the physical presence of attendees in limited numbers with live streaming delivered to larger online audiences forming part of the same event.

Enhancing OCEC’s service-related offerings is the venue’s new website www.ocec.om — which includes several powerful new interactive features for event organisers, all presented in a user-friendly format that supports both desktop and mobile devices.

To celebrate Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre once again becoming the place #WhereTheWorldMeets, OCEC has also launched an online video that showcases the venue’s world-class facilities and services. The video can be viewed online via www.ocec.om.
