MOH to resume second dose of vaccines from Sunday

The Ministry of Health will start to administer the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccines to those who received the first dose (and completed 10 weeks or more) from Sunday, depending on the appointments.


Meanwhile, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health presided over today an expanded meeting to review the National Strategy for Immunization against Covid19- via videoconference.


The meeting was attended by the MOH's undersecretaries along with a number of senior officials of the Ministry and from the governorates. The Minister of Health applauded the efforts of all health workers during the Covid19- pandemic, stressing that everyone had played a significant role in providing the required healthcare for all patients in general and the patients infected with coronavirus in particular. He pointed out that His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik appreciated all efforts of the health workers.


Al Saeedi reviewed the general features of the National Strategy for Immunization against Covid19-, referring that despite the community response for the vaccination campaign, the coverage rate in the governorates is varying due to the concerns of some elder people and parents.


Bader bin Saif Al-Rawahi, Director of Communicable Diseases Control provided a presentation on vaccinating the target groups during the next weeks, as well as the number of received and under procurement vaccines.
