Save Globe Fest held at College of Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Industrial Engineering in association with Student Affairs Office, College of Engineering, National University of Science and Technology, organised the Save Globe Fest 2021 on May 19 and 20 through a virtual platform.


The objective of the event was to provide a forum for the young emerging brains to display and discuss their ideas on Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (RRR) of wastes/plastics and to acquire a novel solution for the current environmental issues.


The series of events included (1) Project presentation (2) Video making competition (3) Quiz Competition and (4) Essay competition with topics focusing more on the globe and the atmosphere. Save Globe Fest 2021 was initiated by Professor Ahmed al Balushi, the Dean, College of Engineering as a CSR for the benefit of students community and the society.


The event was inaugurated by Engineer Muadh al Subhi, the managing director of Rassen Pet Food Factory. In his speech Al Subhi emphasised on the responsibility of each individual to save the planet by a proper balance with the nature.


Professor A Vallavaraj, Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Studies, urged the students to take up novel projects in the domain of waste to energy. Professor Sudhir, head of the department of mechanical and industrial engineering, welcomed the gatherings.


The online event was attended by more than 60 students. A total of RO500 cash awards have been bagged by the students in Save Globe Fest 2021.
