

Port of Duqm Company has announced the completion of the transfer of staff from its Muscat office to the site of its Duqm operations in Al Wusta Governorate.
Engineer Hashim bin Taher al Ibrahim, Director — Business Support, said the transfer was necessitated by the steady uptick in vessel and cargo movements at the port. It also comes as the new head office of the Port of Duqm has been fully commissioned and operational in Duqm.
The fully-equipped complex includes integrated facilities for suppliers and exporters, including a one-stop-shop through which transactions related to imports and exports, traffic permits, customs inspections, and so on, are processed. Also located on the premises are the offices of the ROP Customers, and the ministries of Health and Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and so on.
Port of Duqm features a commercial berth comprising dedicated yards for multi-purpose cargoes, Ro-Ro cargo, liquid terminal, and a dry bulk terminal. In addition to 187.9 square kilometres of port area, the port also has around 2,000 hectares of land have been allocated for industrial areas and 1,000 hectares for the port’s logistic areas.
