Electrical substation fire put out

MUSCAT: Oman Electricity Transmission Company has affirmed that no casualties were reported from the fire that erupted at the main electricity substation in Wadi Adai in Muscat Governorate, on Tuesday.


In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Oman Electricity Transmission Company said the fire had been doused and the electric current restored at the substation in a record time after disconnecting the affected section in cooperation with Muscat Electricity Distribution Company.


In the statement the company said that it has launched an investigation to ascertain the reason behind the fire,


The company expressed its thanks to the emergency and civil defence teams for their rapid response in handling the incident and their efforts to restore the electric current. — ONA
