The vaccination for General Education Diploma (GED) or Grade 12 students in all governorates of the Sultanate will begin on May 25.
"All 12th-grade students in government and private schools, teaching staff of the General Education Diploma, members of the examinations committees, observers and correctors., workers in the examination centers along with General Education Diploma examinees and the equivalents. The workers in the measurement and educational evaluation center and correction centers have been included in the target group," said Bader bin Saif al Rawahi, director of Communicable Diseases in the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Nearly 72 percent and 78, 098 persons in the target groups ( 60 years and above) have received vaccination to date, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH).
As many as 214, 192 people have received the first dose of the two Covid-19 vaccines PfizerbioNTech and Oxford-AstraZeneca between December 27 and May 15.
According to the MOH's statistics, the total number of vaccinated health workers stood at 35,184 with a coverage rate of 91%, while among other categories, a total of 100,910 persons have received the vaccines.
