Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) said that some of its mobile services were affected due to a fire that broke out in one of its transformers.
The company expressed its deep apology for this defect, stressing that the maintenance teams are currently working to restore service as soon as possible.
The company thanked the Civil Defense for the quick response to contain the fire.
Citizens had reported on social media about a malfunction in the network of Omantel, which led to the interruption of communication services, including social media.
