As the holy month of Ramadhan is slowly bidding adieu to the believers and as night lockdown literally is keeping people home, hotels in the city are on a different iftar mode.

Leading star hotels are offering people their favourite iftar delicacies at home where they can break their fast with their families and have the delicacies together at the comfort of their homes.

Starting from early evenings and ending just before the iftar time, these ‘dial an iftar’ service is evoking a sound response from both citizens and residents Ike.

“We are also delighted to announce that a limited edition Iftar menu is available for takeaway and delivery throughout Ramadhan. For the first time, guests will have the option to enjoy the profound Omani generosity and luxurious fine dining experience offered by The Chedi Muscat in the comfort of their home,” Nataly Fedchenko, Marketing Manager, The Chedi.

“We make it a point that foods are prepared with utmost care and attention, the special at home iftar menu will include all-time favourite Ramadhan dishes and treats available for takeaway and delivery daily from 4 pm till 8 pm,” she adds.

While traditional iftar gatherings allow the believers to embrace the divinity of fasting during the holy month of Ramadhan at their restaurants with traditional Arabic iftar buffet blending the traditional with the contemporary, others invite guests to immerse in the warm Omani hospitality of fine dining destinations.

Most of these hotels welcome guests to break their fast with traditional dates, dry fruits and lentil soup. The meal will continue with delectable starters, including lush Middle Eastern salads and delicately prepared cold and warm mezze, including favourites such as Kibbeh, Cheese Sambousek, and Falafel. As night falls, guests will relax into the evening by indulging in a choice of mouth-watering main courses, including traditional Omani slow-roasted Ouzi and a variety of dishes with a modern twist. A wide selection of Arabic desserts will provide the sweetest end to this elevated dining experience.

“It is good to breakfast with your dear and near ones in the cosy ambience of the hotel but the coronavirus has made it just a dream only. Under these circumstances, programmes like the dial an iftar is a boon to many people like me,” Mohammed Shareef, media personnel, opined.

With a few more days left for the holy month to be over, people like Ahmed Shareef are finding the iftar at home more comfortable helping them get rid of the bitter memories of the pandemic into oblivion.
