MUSCAT, May 6: The Board of Directors of Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company (OWWC) – created out of the merger of the Public Authority for Water (Diam) and Haya Water – has named Qais bin Saud al Zakwani (pictured) as the Chief Executive Officer of the newly established entity.

With more than 18 years of experience, Qais brings a unique set of skills and utility sector knowledge, most notably in the implementation of the electricity sector restructuring and leading the Authority for Electricity Regulation as Executive Director and Member for six years.

Qais has been involved with the water restructuring project since 2016 as a member of the water and wastewater restructuring steering committee and we are confident that he will successfully lead the newly formed executive leadership team to deliver on the water and wastewater restructuring objectives.

Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company was established vide Royal Decree 131/2020 of December 9, 2020 to undertake the activities of water and wastewater in all governorates of the Sultanate, with the exception of the Governorate of Dhofar.
