The people of the Sultanate of Oman, both citizens and expatriates will join His Eminence Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamed al Khalili, Grand Mufti of the Sultanate, in a mass prayer for healing the world and to save it from the pandemic on Friday.

Officials of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Endowments (MERA) has requested everyone to pray to God to lift the epidemic and misfortune that was befallen on the world.

People from all governorates and states of the Sultanate will offer two rak'ahs of the prayer of distress and will be held with a unified supplication under His Eminence.

The prayers be held at 12.30 pm through satellite and radio channels and various media outlets to bestow us with our normal life.

"Surrender yourself and plead for the world.... For sure, the last 10 days are the period Almighty Allah will never turn down any request and prayers," says Mufti Menk, who is due to speak to Oman on Thursday.

About the power of prayers during the last few days of the holy month, as it is about to go away from mankind this year, leaving trails of trials and tribulations, Mufti Menk said,

"Give it your all these last days and do unselfish and random acts of kindness. Whenever you see an opportunity to do good, just do it. Amidst all the problems the world faces today, sometimes it’s that one noble act that reminds us there's still some good around us! Go on and do it!"

Being impatient as one could be at times of wanting for what they strongly desire for, he warns one to be careful.

"Being impatient can be dangerous. Instead of trusting the Almighty’s timing, you think you know better? Get out of this mindset. Lay your trust in what He is doing. He is the best planner right down to the last second. Never doubt that."

As the holy month is about to leave from the lives of the believers, Mufti Menk advises all to stop sharing your pain with everyone and never on social media.

"There are many who would be happy to see you in pain. Be mindful who you allow into your circle. Not everyone is there for your healing. Some will even pray against you. Take your pain to the Almighty, your Healer, and not to anyone else," Mufti Menk adds.
