SUHAR: The 4-day annual camel race, organised by the Omani Camel Racing Federation (OCRF), concluded at the camel race track in the Wilayat of Suhar on Thursday under the auspices of Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas.
4 rounds were run during the closing day of the race, as two rounds were allocated for Al Thanaya and 2 rounds for Al Houl.
In the first round for Al Thanya, Al Rawdha’ owned by the Royal Camel Corps and trained by Hamad bin Mohammed al Wahaibi came first.
In the second round for Al Thanaya, ‘Al Muzn’ owned by Ali bin Saleem al Junaibi came first.
In the third round for Al Houl, ‘Radwa’ owned by the Royal Camel Corps and trained by Hamad bin Mohammed al Wahaibi came first.
In the 4th round for Al Houl, ‘Kaif’ owned by Mohammed bin Salim al Wahaibi came first.
At the end of the race, the chief guest distributed the awards for top winners. The race was attended by a number of ministers, Shaikh Muhana bin Saif al Lamki, Governor of North Al Batinah, a number of walis, members of the Majlis Ash’shura and officials of the governmental and private units. — ONA
