MUSCAT, June 4 - Al Tawoun football team won the title of the Majan football tournament after beating Shat al Arab in the penalty shoot out 5-4 as the match ended in a 1-1 draw at full time. The final match ceremony was held at the Shabab al Khoudh football ground under the auspices of HH Sayyid Mohammed bin Salim al Said in the presence of main committee organisers and members. Al Tawoun team captain received the trophy from chief guest and RO 1500 cash prize with gold medals while the runners up Shat al Arab players received RO 750 cash prize and silver medals. Shalka team players bagged the third place bronze medals and RO 500 cash prize.
Ali al Omairi from Shat al Arab grabbed the best player award while Mohammed al Ghassani from Al Tawoun team won the best goalkeeper award. Yasser al Busaidy from Al Bahri team received the top scorer prize. The tournament is organised under the supervision of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), which is responsible for the completion of all the infrastructure and projects related to the Qatar World Cup 2022 in coordination with International Communication Centre in Muscat
