Al Hosni receives head of Japanese diplomatic mission in Muscat

Muscat: Within the framework of the ongoing preparations in the city of Tokyo, Japan, for hosting the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, Shaikh Saif bin Hilal al Hosni, Vice-Chairman of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), received last Thursday at the OOC premises Hidyaki Yamatomo, Deputy Head of the Japanese Diplomatic Mission, in Muscat in the presence of Taha bin Sulaiman al Kishry, OOC Secretary-General. They discussed aspects of cooperation between Oman and Japan in the sports field, particularly in utilising Japan’s expertise in training, coaching and qualification of sports cadres for various sports disciplines, including the karate and judo which are widely exercised in Japan.  They also dealt with the existing coordination with Japan for participation in the upcoming Olympiad and use of joint friendship societies for further strengthening such coordination. The two sides also reviewed the sports in which the Sultanate is expected to participate in the Games and means of further consolidating cooperation between the sports organisations in the two countries.
