Muscat: Representing Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), Hisham bin Salim al Adwani, member of the team assigned to prepare a general perspective of the Omani Olympic Academy, will take part in the 14th Joint International Course for presidents and directors of national Olympic academies to be held from 6 –13 May 2018 at the International Olympic Academy in Greece. The course will address the role of Olympians in promoting Olympic philosophy through knowledge and experience in Olympic education. Reports will be presented on the activities of National Olympic Committees and their academies for the previous years and progress of work with regard to Olympic education and promotion of Olympic Movement.
Al Adwani will review the general perspective of the project of Oman Olympic Academy prepared by the working team set up for this purpose in accordance with the decision of the Board of Directors of Oman Olympic Committee. The team consists of Shaikh Badr bin Ali al Rawas, head of the team; and Farid bin Khamis al Zadjali; Dr Majid bin Said al Busafi; Hisham bin Salim al Adwani; and Ali bin Salim al Busaifi. It is noteworthy that OOC Board of Directors has recommended commencement of the project of Omani Olympic Academy, which is one of the most prominent national sports projects and an educational and cultural centre aimed at educating human cadres in various sports specialisation and propagating Olympic philosophy based on the supreme Olympic ideals and principles.
