Mwasalat will launch the taxi service on December 12 with online on-demand services in Muscat in the first phase. The company said it has worked hard to study the development of this sector in line with the expectations of the public. The new service will include a phone application that will be available in App Store and Google Play for advance and immediate reservation, allowing the users to access the service any time and anywhere in Muscat. In addition, there will be electronic meters in the vehicles, which will preserve the user’s rights and provide him with the information about of the cost of the trip and the distance travelled.
On fares , the company said the details will be revealed before the actual operation of the service. Each destination chosen by the user has a different price, as specified in the price list.
It should be noted that the trial runs will begin from the beginning of next week on the streets of Muscat to the actual date of operation, to measure the effectiveness of systems and devices available within the vehicles.
Mwasalat said it is committed to implementing the highest international standards for its taxi vehicles, ensuring that customers are safe, comfortable and private in terms of cleanliness and quality of vehicles, tracking drivers’ behavior, and monitoring taxi positions within the authorized areas of Muscat.
Mwasalat has provided special offers for taxi drivers to join this new service including installation of systems and free tariff counters, painting of the vehicles, training drivers on using technical devices and software.
Competitive prices will be offered to taxi drivers while replacing their old vehicles. They will be offered free health insurance, social insurance benefits according to regulations, and sharing 50% of the net profits from advertising on taxis.
