The Cusco Declaration

On this day in 2004, the Cusco Declaration was signed by 12 South American nations in Cusco, Peru, establishing the South American Community of Nations (now Union of South American Nations.) The declaration was a two-page statement of intent announcing the foundation of the South American Community.
