Drug smuggler arrested

MUSCAT: The Directorate-General for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances arrested an Asian smuggler who swallowed drugs in a bid to evade officials at Muscat International Airport. The accused was referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation. The Directorate of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at North Al Batinah Police Command arrested seven persons in connection with possessing and trafficking drugs and recovered 66 kg of hashish from them. The defendants were referred to Public Prosecution for investigation.
