MoJ extends expatriate lawyers’ practice until end of 2020

MUSCAT: Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Minister of Justice, has issued a ministerial decision extending the period given to non-Omani lawyers for practising the law profession until the end of 2020. The decision which will be effective from January 1 allows expatriate lawyers to attend hearings and present pleading at the supreme court and appellate courts. Non-Omani lawyers are not allowed to attend hearings at the primary courts as per a ministerial decision issued in 2009.
