Members of Muscat, Dhofar municipal councils take oath

MUSCAT: Municipal Council in the Governorate of Muscat on Thursday opened its first session of the second term. Members of the Council on Thursday took oath before Mohsen bin Mohammed al Shaikh, Head of the Municipal Council in Muscat. Al Shaikh urged members of the 2nd term to exert more efforts to encourage all sectors of the community to carry out their national roles, as well as the private sector to shoulder its corporate social responsibility in serving the community and supporting government efforts in public services. The Council formed three sub-committees, namely Health, Social and Environment Affairs Committee, Public Affairs Committee and Legal Committee. Dhofar Municipal Council: Also on Thursday, members of the Municipal Council in the Governorate of Dhofar took oath before Shaikh Salim bin Ufait al Shanfri, Head of the Municipal Council in Dhofar. After the oath-taking ceremony, three sub-committees were formed namely Health, Social and Environment Affairs Committee, Public Affairs Committee and Legal Committee. Members of the sub-committees were specified as Mohammed bin Said Kashoob, Head of the Legal Committee, Sanad bin Hussein al Shaikh, Head of the Public Affairs Committee, and Ahmed bin Mohammed Bait Ali Sulaiman, Head of the Health, Social and Environment Affairs Committee. — ONA
