5,961 joined civil service in 2015

Around 5,961 new employees were recruited in 2015 in the civil service. The education services and education-related services accounted for the largest number of new employees with 2,641. Most of the new employees have university degrees. The data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information said that among the new appointees in the civil service 3,620 had college education, 725 diploma holders, 645 below General Education Diploma, 542 general diploma holders and 429 postgraduates. It is worth mentioning that the number of women appointed in civil service stood at 3,119 and men 2,842. New appointees (Omanis) stood at 3,785 compared to 1,566 (non-Omanis). — ONA
