Bid to smuggle 2.8m Captagon pills foiled

SOHAR: Customs personnel at the Port of Sohar and the Directorate for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at North Al Batinah Police Command foiled an attempt to smuggle a haul of 2.8 million Captagon pills, said an official with the Royal Oman Police. On suspicion, investigators searched the containers and found the drugs hidden inside leather tanning machines, the official said, adding that the current smuggling bid is linked to another failed attempt in November last year.
