Boost to ties with Japan

MUSCAT: Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, received in his office at Bait al Falaj Camp on Wednesday Admiral Katsutoshi Kawano, Chief of Joint Staff and the highest-ranking officer of the Japan Self-Defence Forces (JSDF), currently visiting the Sultanate. The two sides exchanged cordial conversations and reviewed areas of the existing military cooperation between the two friendly countries. They also discussed issues of common concern. The meeting was attended by Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), the Japanese Ambassador to the Sultanate and the delegation accompanying the guest. Later in a separate meeting, Admiral Katsutoshi Kawano, also met with Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), and held talks. — ONA
