MoSD announces stricter anti-begging penalties

Observer Online The Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) has said begging in public places, streets, commercial centres will be subject to strict penalties with fines ranging between RO50 and RO100 and jail sentences between two months to one year. Selling gadgets and toys on the streets will be also considered as begging and cannot be seen as a source of income. Money got from selling these products will be confiscated while expatriates will be deported.
