MANAH: Al Firdous al Ala Mosque in the Wilayat of Manah in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah was opened on Thursday under the patronage of Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office. The ceremony included poetry recitation and chants that dealt with the grace and bounty of mosques building and taking care of them. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of their highnesses, ministers, members of the State Council and members of Majlis Ash’shura, shaikhs and citizens. Al Firdous al Ala Mosque is located in Mamad Village in the Wilayat of Manah. It can accommodate nearly 3,000 worshippers, and was built on a land area of about 12,000 square metres. The total area of the mosque and its facilities is about 3,162 square metres. The mosque consists of four halls, all equipped with electronic systems for lectures and seminars. The area of the main hall is 40 metres long and 24 metres wide. The area of the central hall is 40 metres long and 10 metres wide. The biggest hall is a multi-purpose hall and can be used for occasions. There is also a prayer hall for women. — ONA
