Delegation of Omani journalists visits Iran

TEHRAN: An Omani journalists’ delegation visited Iran as part of an exchange visits programme aimed at identifying each country’s media experience. The visit came in response to an invitation extended by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran. The delegation, comprising editors-in-chief and editorial managers, reviewed the experience of some Iranian media houses such as the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Al Wifaq newspaper and Iran daily. The delegation met with a number of media officials who underscored the importance of such visits and meetings in order to boost cooperation between the two countries particularly in the field of media and information. The Iranian officials hailed the wise policy of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos in bringing peace and stability to the region voicing optimism for a brighter future in the region due to His Majesty’s wisdom and foresight. They noted that Oman and Iran maintain strong historic relations based on mutual respect. As part of the programme prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the delegation also visited a number of Iranian museums and tourism landmarks. — ONA
