Smuggling operation of cigarettes and tobacco products foiled

By Staff Reporter — MUSCAT:  April 9 - The General Administration of Customs has foiled the biggest smuggling operation of cigarettes and tobacco products since the beginning of 2017 when a ban has been imposed. As per the details, the accused deliberately hid cigarettes and tobacco boxes in a cement truck. Around 22,000 packets were seized from 1,854 boxes of tobacco products. Meanwhile, in Musandam a police patrol boat seized a boat carrying three people of Asian nationality who tried to smuggle alcoholic beverages along the coasts of Daba. The Musandam Coast Guard also seized a fishing boat with two Asian people trying to enter Oman illegally.
