Omantel among top 50 regional brands

MUSCAT: Omantel has become the only Omani brand to be ranked in Brand Finance’s prestigious annual ‘Top 50 most valued Middle Eastern brands’ report. The company has climbed two ranks from No. 47 in 2016 to occupy the 45th position in 2017— a five per cent growth in brand value amounting to $390 million, in comparison to last year. Brand Finance calculates the values of the brands in its league tables using the ‘Royalty Relief approach’. This approach involves estimating the likely future sales that are attributable to a brand and calculating a royalty rate that would be charged for the use of the brand.
