Oman eases tourist visa rules

Observer Online The Official Gazette has published through the decree 77/2017 new amendments to the Foreign Residency Law. The new provisions stipulate that tourist visit visas (select states) will be granted by a competent authority to foreigners who wish to visit the Sultanate. The holder of this visa will be entitled to stay in the country for a month, extendable for a similar period. • Tourists/Foreigners can enter through an authorized port of entry. Tourists visas shall be also obtained from the Sultanate's representatives abroad. • Tourists visa will be granted by the competent authority to the nationals of the select states at the request of a local operator permitted to carry out tourism activities under its responsibility in return for a financial guarantee determined by the competent authority. A tourist visa will cost RO20.
