ISWK students interact with Azharuddin

MUSCAT: The newly elected office-bearers of Indian School Wadi Kabir (ISWK) had an opportunity to interact with Mohammad Azharuddin, former captain of the Indian cricket team. The students gave the veteran cricketer a rousing welcome while receiving him in the school premises. Mohammad Azharuddin, who was also the Chief Guest of the school event, exhorted the newly sworn-in student leaders to hone their leadership skills and meet the challenges ahead. He underlined the idea of becoming a leader and said, “A leader is one who knows, goes and shows the way.” Present on the occasion were two eminent Sri Lankan cricketers of yesteryears, Ruwan Kalpage and Rumesh Ratnayake. Syed Anwar, member of the Oman Cricket Board, Madhu Jesrani, veteran cricketer who has played a key role in popularising the game in Oman; Anil Khimji, a patron of the school; Harshendu Shah, President of the SMC and other members of the SMC were also present on this august occasion along with other dignitaries and special invitees.
