MoU to boost cybersecurtiy

The Sultanate, represented by the Oman National Computer Emergency Readiness Team (OCERT) at Information Technology Authority (ITA) — and also on its capacity as chairman of the national cybersecurity centres of OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU with US-based global Forum for Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) with the aim of enhancing international cooperation in cyber security. The agreement was signed by Badr bin Ali al Salhi, Diector-General of OCERT and Margrete Raaum, Chair for FIRST, during the organization’s annual general meeting. The MoU is aimed at fostering cooperation in responding to cyber attacks, organizing joint forums and seminars and sharing alerts about cyber threats. — ONA
