4,332 new SMEs come up in Sultanate

Last May saw the registration of 751 new SMEs, a 12 per cent increase compared with the same month previous year, according to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). In general, the number of SMEs registered this year has dropped compared with the previous year. Important initiatives have been taken to generate 1,878 job opportunities through SMEs by 2020. These initiatives were the outcome of the employment and labour market lab held as part of National Programme for Enhancing Economic Diversification (Tanfeedh).
