NATURE’S FURY: Lava erupts and flows from the Piton de la Fournaise, the volcano of the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion, which erupted early on Friday according to the Piton de la Fournaise volcano observatory (OVPF). Located in the southeast of Reunion Island, the Piton de la Fournaise is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. It has erupted twice since the beginning of this year, in January and May, and about 15 times during the last ten years. — AFP
