Life lost as a delivery van hits camel in Marmul

An Indian expatriate died on the spot when the delivery van vehicle in which he was travelling met with a freak accident in Marmul.  The driver of the ill-fated vehicle has been admitted to the Royal Hospital in Salalah with multiple injures, said sources at the Royal Oman Police. According to witnesses, the van was hit by a camel. The employees of a bakery in Barka were on their way to Salalah on Tuesday night when the accident took place on the Sleem road in Marmul, 800km away from Muscat. The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Mohammed Ali Poyil, who is survived by wife and four children.
