IBRA: As part of its preparations for a quality audit of its General Foundation Program (GFP) in November 2017, Al Sharqiyah University (ASU) organised a trial run (mock audit) at its campus in Ibra.
GFP Quality Audit is a new process introduced by the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) in 2016. GFP Quality Audit is the first in the OAAA’s 3-phase accreditation process for General Foundation Programs and is a mandatory requirement for all institutions offering the GFP in the Sultanate.
Al Sharqiyah University spent several months preparing for this important event.
The University’s GFP Quality Audit Steering Committee invited a team of three industry experts to act as critical friends and give us their feedback on our progress. The team visited ASU campus on July 25. After a day of interviews with a wide range of staff and students, the team shared their main observations with management and the GFP team. Staff and students felt very positive about the mock audit experience.
