Six arrested for illegal fishing, poaching

MUSCAT: Royal Oman Police has arrested three people, including a Gulf nationality, after receiving information for illegal fishing vessel in the Fath village in Dhank. The vessel was seized with these people on board with communication equipment, hand-operated scaffolds and binoculars and a gazelle meat. In a similar case, ROP was able to nab three people, in cooperation with the police headquarters of the North Al Batinah and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, after receiving information that two boats were fishing in one of the areas of the state. The victims were seized with a number of firearms and accessories. The defendants have been referred to the public prosecution for necessary legal action.
